Could OPCs Help Combat Fibromyalgia?

Could OPCs Help Combat Fibromyalgia?

Chronic widespread pain, to the point where you can’t even walk up the stairs, let alone function in your “normal” life? If that sounds familiar, you’ve probably already been to the doctor and heard the “F” word: fibromyalgia.

If you’re one of the 6-12 million Americans suffering from fibromyalgia, you already know how devastating it can be. Incessant pain with no end in sight. Even worse? There’s no known cause, no diagnostic test, and no standard treatment plan.

You’re likely to be put on one of several drugs or painkillers, which might or might not work, along with a plan to “manage the pain.”

But as you also probably know, that’s easier said than done. Most sufferers of fibromyalgia simply muddle on through, pushing into work on the better days and staying in bed on the worst days.

A Glimmer of Hope

Fortunately, there may be something you can do at home to take control of your pain from fibromyalgia. The secret hope lies in nature’s antioxidants.

In 2010, scientists performed a study using grape seed extract to try to counter effects of hypersensitive pain. The results showed a “potent” effect on rats given grape seed extract.

Scientists were left with a theory that grape seed extract, a natural antioxidant, could potentially be used to help with chronic pain linked to fibromyalgia.

A 2018 study left further credit to the theory—this study examined whether a controlled diet could reduce pain in those suffering from Fibromyalgia. The diet included grape seed and green tea (another natural antioxidant). The subject ended up not only reporting reduced pain, but increased mobility.

Just two years before that study, another study suggested that resveratrol, an antioxidant found in red wine (and red wine extract) could potentially be used to “significantly reduce” pain from fibromyalgia.

A very recent study published in Panminerva Medica indicates that another antioxidant, pine bark extract, could offer fibromyalgia pain relief and lessen the need for painkillers as part of a treatment plan.

Another study is currently examining whether green tea extract, combined with other antioxidants and natural supplements, could contribute to reduced pain levels and higher quality of life for fibromyalgia sufferers.

What the Science Means for You

Scientists are creating a more clear picture every day of this image—natural antioxidants can potentially provide much-needed relief for fibromyalgia sufferers. Assuming research continues in this direction, it’s likely that we will see these powerful antioxidants used in the future as part of a standard treatment plan.

In the meantime, however, you can get the benefits of these particular antioxidants, known as OPCs, and experience the difference for yourself.

Our OPCXtra contains a powerful blend of the super antioxidants mentioned in these studies: pine bark extract, green tea extract, red wine extract, grape seed extract, along with bilberry extract and citrus bioflavonoids.

Many of our happy customers have seen the difference in their fibromyalgia pain after trying OPCxtra!

What Customers Are Saying

“I have suffered from fibromyalgia for the past 26 years. Recently, I began to have constant joint pain especially in my hands, hips, knees, and ankles with stiffness that was intense. I noticed a decrease in the joint pain with more mobility within the first week. My fibromyalgia symptoms of muscle pain, spasms, and low energy improved as well. So far, I am appreciating this product.” - Angela E.

“OPCXtra mixed with the CalX not only taste great mixed together, great for overall health and it also has been keeping my chronic pain under control for years. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia 22 years ago after receiving severe whiplash from a car accident.  I know it works because I tested it, I stopped taking the product once, after a week all my pain came back, I was miserable. I will never run out of my Isotonics again. Keeps me healthy and happy. Thank you OptiHealth for making my life better! :-)” - Carolyn B.
